Boyacá is een departement in het noorden van Colombia. De hoofdstad van het departement is de stad Tunja. De gouverneur is Jorge Eduardo Londoño. Boyacá ziet zich als hart van de Colombiaanse natie. In 1819 is hier de onafhankelijkheidsstrijd begonnen tegen de Spaanse machthebbers. Op 8 augustus 1818 werd een Orde van Boyacá ingesteld voor militaire verdiensten.
